چکیده

Since 1972 the Hyogo Rehabilitation Centre has been developing a variable-resistance-type pneumatic control device, the HRC Adjustable Pneumatic Swing-Phase Control Knee. Successful field tests have been carried out on 20 cases with Model IV since 1973 with only a limited number of mechanical troubles. This paper introduces the HRC adjustable pneumatic swing-phase control knee with follow-up studies.

A comparative evaluation of the Adaptive knee and Catech knee joints: a preliminary study.

The Adaptive knee joint is a microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knee that incorporates both pneumatic and hydraulic control in one electronic unit. Pneumatic control is said to provide control during swing phase and the hydraulic control during the stance phase of the gait. This hybrid controller is triggered by a computer contained within the knee that responds to input from force, time and ...

Conventional versus microchip controlled pneumatic swing phase control for trans-femoral amputees: user's verdict.

A questionnaire survey of 22 selected transfemoral amputees who were switched from pneumatic swing phase control knee joints (PSPC) to microprocessor controlled intelligent knee joints (IP) is presented. On overall rating all respondents considered the IP to be an improvement or a great improvement compared to the PSPC and none decided to revert back or wished to use their previous PSPC prosthe...

Energy expenditure during walking in amputees after disarticulation of the hip. A microprocessor-controlled swing-phase control knee versus a mechanical-controlled stance-phase control knee.

We have compared the energy expenditure during walking in three patients, aged between 51 and 55 years, with unilateral disarticulation of the hip when using the mechanical-controlled stance-phase control knee (Otto Bock 3R15) and the microprocessor-controlled pneumatic swing-phase control knee (Intelligent Prosthesis, IP). All had an endoskeletal hip disarticulation prosthesis with an Otto Boc...

Design and Evaluation of a Magnetorheological Damper Based Prosthetic Knee

In this work, a magnetorheological (MR) damper based above-knee prosthesis is design and evaluated based on its performance in swing phase and in stance phase. Initially, a dynamic system model for swing phase of a prosthetic leg incorporating a single-axis knee with ideal MR damper was built. The dynamic properties of the damper are represented with Bingham parametric model. From Bingham model...
